BIOGRAPHY OF PASTOR CARLOS L. KELLY
Pastor Carlos L. Kelly was born the fourth of five sons to the late Rev. Don A. Kelly and Jewelene Kelly in Little Rock, Arkansas. After completing high school, Rev. Kelly accepted a basketball scholarship to attend Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi. He graduated with honors receiving his Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice and his Masters of Education in Sociology. His pursuit to enter law school was changed when he accepted his call into the ministry.
At the age of 24, Rev. Kelly was called to pastor New Hope Baptist Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, the late Rev. L. B. Kelly, and father, the late Rev. Don A. Kelly, he became the third generation to serve as pastor of New Hope. Rev. Kelly has been anointed by God to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His ministry aims at reaching people where they are and helping them overcome their struggles through the practical teaching of God's Word. Under his leadership, New Hope has experienced tremendous growth in all areas spiritually, numerically and financially. On January 16, 2007, God enlarged Rev. Kelly's territory as he led New Hope in a new direction to Conway, Arkansas. New Hope is now, one church in two locations.
On May 7, 2011, he received a Master's of Divinity from Southwestern Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas.
He has been married to his wife, Letitia, since July 22, 1995. He and Mrs. Kelly are the proud parents of two boys, Jalen and Caleb.
